Day 16: Roads

ROADS. The journey on them can feel long. They are connectors to people and places, history...yes history hidden between the cracks of the asphalt sure patched and covered but there they still are.
.
And maybe the road you have traveled on seems warn with age, with the past just lurking around. But my friend roads have been and always will be meant to travel on, to journey to the next mile. Perhaps you haven’t had reason to go past that certain mile marker, fear, questions and the “what if’s” of life.
.
Truly we cannot stand afraid in the “what if’s” on the road. Yes there will be many but what if we lived not from a place of “what if not” to one of “what if it could” do you think the road would look different to you? It’s a matter of perspective.
.
Many have ventured down these roads saying, “if I get close enough”
“If I just ask”
“If I can just see”
“If I can just touch the hem of His robe”
.
Yes perhaps the road of healing looks like the “if can” rather than the “if not” and my what a glorious road it is to travel on. One with mystery, uncertainty; where it takes bravery, courage and a risk to travel further. Yes here and now the chance is yours and are you ready for the more in life? Because the more comes too with a weighted “if” statement. For we will face times that endurance will be tested, that trust and the willingness to remain will be questioned and in the middle of it all the question at hand is “if not, is He still good?” So is He even if...even if not now but later, even if not ever, even if there is silence...? Will you dare continue down the road?
