Day 1: Freedom
Defined it is "the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint; the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved."
The word freedom is a central part of the United States we are the "land of the free..." and yes we do live in freedom here verses many other areas of the world. But, what happens when our freedoms feel stifled, taken away, or subjected? Or maybe we have started to take them for granted? Or maybe we have a lack of understand of what true freedom is?
Galatians 5:1 says "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." So what is freedom to you? What is freedom here in the United States? What is freedom found and rooted in Christ? How can we be good stewards of our freedoms?
Father, today may we understand to a deeper level and degree of what freedom means, looks like, and how to walk in it. We thank you that Jesus you have come to set captives free, that you have given us freedom. God, we thank you for this nation of the United States, for the freedoms that are here and where you desire for freedom to be understood, given and stewarded better. Jesus show us what it looks like today to walk in true freedom found in you. Show us where freedom has been used as a coverup for false devices and reveal your truth within that. Lead us, guide us, teach us. We love you and thank you for all that you have done and will do, Amen.
